Abstract (excerpt from the project`s proposal):

"The VISIONARIES-NET project – a co-operation of experts from Germany, France, Spain and Romania - brings together persons engaged in violence prevention in school and aims to making them learn from one another. This will be realised by conducting online conferences with experts and practitioners as well as by initiating the formation of an International online community on violence prevention in schools that builds on the VISIONARY portal the precursor project of this project.

Within the project five online conferences that focus on the following topics:

  1. Coping with School Bullying and Violence Using the Internet (May 4 - June 3, 2005)
  2. School Bullying and Violence: Prevention Strategies for Local Authorities (September 19 - October 14, 2005)
  3. New Forms of School Bullying and Violence: Cyberbullying, Happy Slapping, Dating Violence and Other New Trends (April 24 - May, 19, 2006)
  4. School Bullying and Violence: The Role of the Media (May 15 - June 9, 2006)
  5. Research: A Way to Deal with School Bullying and Violence (September 18 - October 13, 2006)

The outcomes of the project will get published and disseminated by means of an e-book, website and reports. They support the project`s target groups in their activities and aim to initiate further discussions on the topic.

As a part of the VISIONARIES-NET project, the VISIONARY portal will also be extended by an additional French, Spanish and Romanian version.
