The objectives of our projects (detailed information)

The VISIONARY project has created an International Internet portal for teachers, parents, pupils and experts on “violence in school”. Within the project we have two major aims: we want to provide information and we want to facilitate communication between users within and between our countries.

One of the main ideas behind our projects is that we assume that people working in the field of violence prevention in school can learn and profit from the experiences of others, on a national and International level. In spite of all the differences between our countries, for instance in terms of history, culture, traditions, educational system philosophical approaches, many key problems within the field of violence prevention in school are more or less comparable. Looking at what practitioners are doing in their own and in other countries can be a valuable and helpful source of inspiration for one’s own work.

Within our projects, we have aimed to create online environments which enable our users to learn from each other. On the web site, we provide users with a comprehensive collection of information (in the "facts & figues" section, the news section, the link collection, the best practice section) in order to provide a starting point for their own work and further searches of information. Furthermore, we encourage dialogue and interaction on a national and International level by means of our online conferences that we offer as a part of the VISIONARIES-NET project as well as our forums on our website.
